Luxury Accommodation in Salento

Join us for 7 nights in our luxury accommodation set in the gentle Salento countryside, surrounded by centuries-old olive groves and woods. The area is dotted with charming rural towns such as Taurisano, Ugento, Miggiano and Specchia, in each of which you will find local markets, restaurants, some lovely architecture and a sense of the simple life.

Rest, swim, relax and prepare delicious meals

Beautiful sandy beaches of the Ionian coast are a short drive away. The baroque jewel of
Lecce is close and is a great day out for anyone interested in Italian art and architecture of
the 17th and 18th centuries. Visit sea-front fish restaurants and browse in the gently bustling atmosphere. We will have plenty of time to spend in the kitchen with Giovanni and Alessandro learning wonderful ways to prepare the freshest of produce from the local markets.

Wine, Olive Oil and Cheese

During our stay we will visit artisan producers of wine, olive oil and cheese. Puglia is the home of Burrata, the fresh Italian cow milk cheese (occasionally buffalo milk) made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella, while the inside contains stracciatella and cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture.

If Italy is the largest producer of wine in the world, it is largely thanks to Puglia, which produces more than any other Italian region, about 17% of the total!

Truli Houses

We will visit the cities of Bari and Taranto
as well as a day exploring the famous
cone-shaped Truli Houses.
A trullo (plural, trulli) is a traditional Apulian dry stone hut with a conical roof. Trulli generally were constructed as temporary field shelters and storehouses or, as permanent dwellings

by small proprietors or agricultural labourers. In the town of Alberobello, in the province of Bari, whole districts contain dense concentrations of trulli. The golden age of trulli was the nineteenth century, especially its final decades, which were marked by the development of wine growing. After visiting local markets we will return to

the villa and lots of fun cooking classic dishes of this region with Giovanni and Alessandro.
